No News is Good News?

Although we have no firm date we can open the hall or even do viewings we are hopeful by "the last week in April the economy" and Gartmore Village Hall will begin to open.

Local business tells us that they are now starting to receive bookings for honeymoons, special occasions and other events. This is great news as it means you are starting to plan again with a new degree of confidence. We have received enquiries and potential bookings for weddings in the hall too. We are absolutely delighted with this progress.

Our village hall is such a beautiful venue for any event be it a business conference, wedding, party or any other event.

We can give you our promise that if you book we will rearrange or refund your booking should COVID still be a problem. However, we are confident now with the vaccine being rolled out and the R number under control we are indeed on the road to recovery.

Below I have a recommendation from one of our beautiful couples who married in our church and had their reception in the hall. The photographs are beautiful and were done by One Big Picture photography.

"We have such wonderful memories of our wedding in Gartmore in October 2017. It really was the perfect day.

We were married in the lovely Parish Church, which was so charming and cosy and had the perfect intimate atmosphere for our guests.

Afterwards we had photographs taken around the village - with views to the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, Ben Lomond and with plenty of historic characterful buildings (Gartmore is a conservation village) we were spoilt for choice.

The Village Hall, being at the heart of the village, was absolutely perfect for our reception. Just a few mins walk away from the church, our guests first mingled in the light bright ‘garden room’ with views out onto the adjacent lawn edged by espalier fruit trees. It would be perfect in warmer weather to have those doors wide open for a celebration to spill outside.

The beautiful bespoke wooden bar at the far end of the garden room was ideal for serving drinks. Our caterers, Three Sisters Bake (from nearby Killearn) remarked what a great kitchen space they had to work in, and were very impressed.

The other adjoining rooms of the hall offered lots of options for changing, storage and allowing the photographer and musicians a space to catch their breath. Everything was spotless and well laid out. I love the touches of cozy thick tartan curtains and upholstered furniture that the hall has - it really adds to the ambiance.

The reception was in the main hall itself, a huge light bright modern space, with plenty of space to seat all our guests and then move the tables and chairs back for a Ceilidh. We were allowed to string up our own ceiling fairy lights, which was a nice touch.

All in all we can only heartily recommend Gartmore Village Hall if you are considering a special wedding or reception. Thank you to all who helped make our perfect wedding day!"
